However, Chico chose not to linger for animal control and returned to his unsuspecting owner who was unaware of his little adventure. The officers, despite being on the night shift, were amused by Chico's pleasant demeanor and joked that he was there to enlist as a K-9 officer.
The young dog made his way back home, and the following morning his owner contacted the police to inform them that Chico was back and was safe. Chico’s residence was approximately a mile away from the station.
