Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner Agree on Co-Parenting Terms
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, once a beloved couple, have taken a significant step towards resolving their custody dispute. Focusing on the well-being of their two daughters, Willa, 3, and Delphine, 14 months, they've reached an agreement for joint custody. This decision comes as a testament to their commitment to co-parenting and ensuring a harmonious upbringing for their children.
In a recent joint statement given to Page Six, the duo mentioned, “After a productive mediation, we've agreed that our children will divide their time equally between homes in the U.S. and the UK. We are enthusiastic about our journey as co-parents.” This statement reflects their mutual understanding and respect for one another in the interest of their children's well-being.
Details from the mediation suggest that from October 9 to October 21, Sophie will have custody of the children in the UK. Post this period, the kids will be with Joe until November 2. This pattern will continue until January 7, 2024, with a special note that Joe will be with the kids for Thanksgiving and Sophie will have them during Christmas.
Their decision to co-parent comes after Joe, 34, filed for divorce from Sophie, 27, after four years of marriage. Sophie, known for her role in Game of Thrones, expressed her wish to raise their daughters in England. This led to a brief disagreement where she alleged Joe of withholding their passports. But Joe's side was quick to clarify, stating he was always supportive of raising their children in both countries.
While this custody agreement represents a significant step forward, the future of their divorce proceedings remains uncertain. Sophie wishes for the case to be tried in the UK, while Joe's preference is for it to stay in the US. Amidst all this, one thing is clear - both parents are committed to ensuring a balanced and loving environment for their children.
