Amber Heard has recently leveled accusations against her Aquaman co-star, Jason Momoa. As reported by Variety, Heard alleges that Momoa impersonated her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, while on the set of the Aquaman sequel. She also claims that he was intoxicated during filming.
According to notes from Heard's therapist, which were mentioned in court documents, Heard stated, "Jason said he wanted me fired. Jason drunk — late on set. Dressing like Johnny. Has all the rings too." These notes were related to defamation cases involving Heard and Depp from the previous year.
However, a spokesperson from DC countered these accusations, stating that Momoa always behaved professionally while working on "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom." When Variety reached out for Momoa's perspective on the matter, his representative chose not to comment.
An unidentified individual who was present on the film set shared with Variety that Momoa enjoys an occasional beer, just like anyone else, but he doesn't come to the set under the influence. This source also addressed the claims about Momoa's fashion choices, saying that he has always embraced a bohemian style and is not trying to imitate Johnny Depp.
When it comes to official statements from the involved parties, representatives for both Amber Heard and Jason Momoa did not provide an immediate response.
Amber Heard's involvement in the Aquaman sequel also became a focal point during her defamation trial against Johnny Depp last year. She revealed in her testimony that she had faced challenges to maintain her role in the film, ultimately settling for a diminished version of her intended character. Interestingly, Kathryn Arnold, an expert from the entertainment industry, testified that Jason Momoa had advocated for Heard, ensuring she remained part of the film.
Fans and movie-goers are eagerly awaiting "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom," which is set for release on December 20. It is a continuation of the 2018 hit, "Aquaman."
