Shocking! Dead Frog Found in College Hostel Food!

Disturbing find in a college hostel meal at KIIT, Bhubaneswar sparks outrage on social media!

The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubaneswar has come under severe criticism after a dead frog was discovered in the food served at one of its hostels. A student, Aaraynsh, brought this to light when he posted the disturbing image on a microblogging platform, causing a significant stir among netizens. He highlighted the incongruity of paying around Rs 17.5 lakhs for an engineering degree and still having to contend with such appalling standards of food in the hostel. He also commented on the tendency of Indian students to seek higher education in foreign countries due to such incidents reflecting poor quality and standards in education and facilities.

The controversial image features a plate of food, spilled, with a dead frog in the center. Aaraynsh, along with the post, wondered aloud why despite the considerable fees, such instances occur and made an observation about students preferring foreign institutions due to better education and facilities.

The incident caused a flood of angered responses on social media. Many users commented on the dreadful situation, suggesting that the institution, the canteen contractor, and the person in charge should all face legal repercussions, and their licenses should be revoked. There were comparisons made between the food quality in government colleges, often perceived as miserable, and private ones, where food quality is assumed to be of a five-star standard.

In response to the backlash, the college authorities decided to address the issue by penalizing the mess service provider by deducting one day’s payment. Aaraynsh shared the notice from the college, emphasizing that this was the solution arrived at by the authorities.

This horrifying discovery sparked discussions and reminiscences among other users about similar experiences, with one user recounting finding a lizard in their food and choosing to avoid the mess for an entire semester.

The reaction to this incident ranges from anger to disbelief, with the majority condemning the college and the relevant authorities for the lack of quality and the inadequate response to such a grave issue. The overall tone of the conversation reflects frustration with the state of educational facilities and the quality of life for students, raising pertinent questions about accountability and standards in educational institutions.
